The production was preceded by a series of visits to displays of old and antique cars that took place in Nairobi during the same times that the artist was in Kenya.

The one who encouraged and explained to the family many details about this branch of collecting antique cars was the father of one of the students in Oren the son’s class. He was an impressive man and his beard was gathered in a net as is customary among Indians of this sect. Mr. Manji was an avid collector and owner of several vehicles. They were groomed, looked new, and even participated in movies and various events. The love with which the vehicles were treated was evident. Among other things, it was clarified that sometimes the body of the car was assembled in Kenya and the engine was imported.

When the series was offered to Deborah, she used this collector to obtain a list of collectors. Questionnaires were sent to them which were compiled with the help of Tzvika – the spouse who was involved in the operation. The wait was exhausting, but eventually the completed questionnaires started arriving from the collectors. One of them even added and wrote that he uses his car on a regular basis.

Now a sorting has been conducted in order to match the cars to the required years – in order for them to be included in the vintage conditions. The designs were prepared in acrylic paints on Bristol and brought to the authority for approval and execution.

Sometimes, as in this series, the stamps that were not included in the production were the ones that remained in the heart. One was disqualified because it was manufactured by the Ford company, the name of one of the parties – during election days. And the other was too old and was not included in the category. This is an opportunity to present the car and apologize for not being included in the elegant series and one of the artist’s favorites.
